Addiction Services
Provides serves to those with substance abuse issues, primarily addictions to opioids and alcohol. The purpose of the clinic is to provide quick access to care for addiction issues, including assessments, counselling and prescriptions for medications that may help with lessening cravings and withdrawal symptoms. The RAAM Clinic will also help patients to navigate access to other addiction services in our community and provide support through transitions.

Residential addiction treatment facility for men struggling with substance use disorder and interested in being admitted tothe withdrawal management program. The program services include: 24 hour /7 day a week crisis telephone support, residential withdrawal management, psycho-educational relapse prevention and recovery programming and treatment/next steps / referral planning, a very effective day program for clients in transition, a community tobacco addiction program and access to psychiatric sessions and a primary care physician through a partnership with the Shelter Health Network.

Long-term residential addiction treatment program for men in a safe and secure environment where one can gain information to maintain and self-identified goal of abstinence. The program is based on the cognitive behavioural model. All clients must have a current, valid Ontario Health Card. Patients on methadone or suboxone treatment are accepted.

Admissions criteria:
- Men, ages 18 and over, experiencing substance dependency.
- Participants' physical and mental health must be stable enough to fully participate in a structured, intensive treatment program; as evidenced by their physician's report form and any other health reports that may be required.
- Recovery goals must be compatible with ‘abstinence-based’ treatment philosophy. Wayside House of Hamilton is striving towards being recognized as a “Center of Excellence” for ‘abstinence-based’ treatment.
- Persons admitted to the program agree to embrace and foster an environment that is respectful, recovery and solution orientated, and free of discrimination.
